general information

hypothesis

We hypothesized that lighter colors would attract more pollinators because of their vibrancy.

locations

People can conduct the Colored Bowl Trap experiment in any area with flowers.

In our experiment, we have collected data in sunny locations in the Lincoln Park neighborhood with flowers of varying size, color, and number. We often sampled in prairies and nature trails, next to large patches of tall, perennial wildflowers, or wildflowers that live for multiple seasons. We also visited gardens, such as in the Lincoln Park Conservatory, that had annual flowers, or plants that only live for one season.
